Directs and is responsible for optimizing the practices, policies, procedures and programs to operate the electric and gas distribution system during normal and emergency conditions in a safe, reliable and efficient manner with the welfare of employees, customers, the public and shareholders in mind. Supervises on-shift distribution personnel (Dispatchers) on a 24/7 basis. Monitors overall system status and initiates emergency procedures during storms, system disturbances, and security events. Oversee system configuration and ensures maintenance of equipment/facilities affecting such.

Control and operate the 2.4kV, 4kV, 13kV and 34kV distribution system. Span of control includes all devices connected to the distribution system typically beginning with the circuit breaker at the substation. Respond to all electrical service interruptions involving distribution equipment. Perform electrical switching on a planned, emergent and emergency basis-Follow established operating practices and procedures as they relate to customer restoration, switching and operating for scheduled and emergent work. Manage real-time system alarm status and loading conditions. Perform system restoration during storms and emergency events. -Perform the work of receiving, recording, routing, dispatching customer calls, information, orders, and emergency calls. Serve as the tagging authority by leading and directing the application of the safety tagging procedures. Execute line clearance orders by confirming and directing the placement of tags. Lead, direct and supervise associates in restoring customers and safely clearing and restoring equipment. Recognize and reinforce strong performers. Take appropriate administrative actions to address weak performers.
