Dr. Selvey has enjoyed a productive career practicing medicine and in the medical device industry, working with innovative organizations that seek to make a difference in our world. The companies include MiniMed, Inc. (now part of the Medtronic family of companies), the original developer of the external and implantable insulin pumps and the Continuous Glucose Monitoring System; W.L. Gore and Associates, the creator of Gore-Tex implantable biomaterials for the reconstruction of soft tissue defects; and Alliance Medical, Inc. (now part of the Stryker Medical group of companies) which sought to redefine the landscape for reusable medical devices. More recently, Dr. Selvey served as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Aesthetics Biomedical, Inc., the designer and manufacturer of the Vivace Ultra RF Microneedling system. HE was also interim CEO at Exsomed and Ostiio, both orthopedic device start-up companies.Dr. Selvey earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Biology and Physiology from Arizona State University then a doctorate in medicine. He completed post-graduate training in Family Medicine through clerkships at multiple clinics dedicated to providing healthcare to the underserved, and Pain Management through a 12-month preceptorship at Comprehensive Health Services, in rural northern Arizona.Dr. Selvey began his professional career in public health at the Arizona Department of Health Services and was fortunate to be trained in the science of epidemiology through an arrangement with CDC. Dr. Selvey practiced infectious disease epidemiology and environmental epidemiology, becoming the head of an environmental epidemiology branch. He has written and published several articles in peer-reviewed publications in public health.Dr. Selvey was for two decades a visiting professor of Anatomy & Physiology at colleges and universities, teaching future healthcare professionals the science of medicine.
