Retired Broadcast EngineerThe Museum Of Radio And Technology Jan 2017 - Mar 2022Huntington, West VirginiaExhibition radio control room.Built as a retirement hobby, the exhibition radio control room was constructed to interest students in the STEM subjects and to help stem the decline in broadcast engineering and voice acting. Consisting entirely of donated and discarded broadcast equipment, the system is fully functional as if an operator could sit down and do a live show. Even though mostly obsolete, and built in the museum's motif, the legacy equipment shows the way broadcasting used to be for the mature visitor. The interactive display is a basic backbone for additional projects like a LPFM station, and dinner theater plays in our auditorium. The project took two years to recondition and install the equipment and ancillary equipment. The system is stereo and fully broadcast ready.
