Exhibition radio control room.Built as a retirement hobby, the exhibition radio control room was constructed to interest students in the STEM subjects and to help stem the decline in broadcast engineering and voice acting. Consisting entirely of donated and discarded broadcast equipment, the system is fully functional as if an operator could sit down and do a live show. Even though mostly obsolete, and built in the museum's motif, the legacy equipment shows the way broadcasting used to be for the mature visitor. The interactive display is a basic backbone for additional projects like a LPFM station, and dinner theater plays in our auditorium. The project took two years to recondition and install the equipment and ancillary equipment. The system is stereo and fully broadcast ready.

Maintain all electronic equipment in remote sites, studio, and editing suites.Make modifications to electronic equipment as needed. Install, align, and train engineers to operate, evaluate, and diagnose problems with production, studio, and remote site equipment Organize and coordinate projects. Make recommendations for equipment repair, modification,parts purchases, and new equipment purchases. Make decisions in the place of management when they are absent or unavailable in emergencies. Leads and trains junior engineers in operation modifying, and maintaining studio, remote site, and editing equipment.

Repair malfunctioning video tape machines and video cameras. Install and maintain video processing equipment. Operate and maintain TV and FM transmitters. Feed, tune, and operate microwave links to both transmitters and the state microwave system. Maintain quality control of remote transmissions by preventative maintenance of the remote truck. Service microprocessor-based products and perform modifications on equipment to improve performance.

One month grant project through the Mountain Arts Foundation. Installing and evaluating 2 inch video tape machines, streamlining the editing system and capabilitiesand other projects as outlined by Richard Fauss and/orFrederick Armstrong.

Worked under the direction of the Chief Engineer to constructa new TV station. Installed telecine machines and parts ofthe video tape, switcher and microwave systems. Assistedin the installation of the TV transmitter control and monitoringsystems. (Part-time concurrent with work at WPBY-TV)

Serviced and installed employee time clocks, bell-ringingsystems, indicating clock systems, fire alarm and securitysystems. Performed preventive maintenance on this equipment and field modifications to improve life and performance.
