My name is Donagh Corby, and I am an award-winning sports & entertainment journalist and media professional from Dublin.I most recently took on the role of Head of News with social media news outlet Happy Punch, where I produce regular content for our 400,000+ followers across various platforms. This comes after a two-and-half year stint with the Daily Mirror in the UK, where I helped to grow their Mirror Fighting brand into one of the biggest in combat sports. After establishing a base of millions of page views on our native website, I was part of a team of just three people to grow our social media presence as a new revenue stream for the company during trying times for traditional print media. We accrued over 85,000 Tik Tok followers and 62,000 YouTube subscribers, generating tens of thousands in brand new revenue amid difficulties in the media scene to maintain income streams. In my spare time, I provide media solutions to clients such as marketing companies, charities, global education funds and new media outlets. I have worked with people across the world to help keep their operations running smoothly, as well as maintaining a strong presence in the digital media space.I moved to New York at the end of 2019 and returned to Ireland due to lockdown measures where I became self-employed working with a number of clients in Ireland and abroad.For three years, I wrote for the Irish Daily Mirror; one of Ireland's top newspapers with millions of monthly page views online and tens of thousands newspapers circulated daily.I covered every sport big or small in Ireland with a particular focus on MMA, Soccer, Pro Wrestling, Rugby and Gaelic games. I also covered the news desk and wrote some showbiz pieces during my time there.This multimedia content includes; real time video interviews and reactions at events, live blogs (which attract hundreds of thousands of views), and viral social media posts across all platforms.I have worked in broadcast journalism as well as written, being involved on a number of Dublin City FM shows, and then working for three months with Raidio na Life, beginning in January 2018.I was involved in shows like Fios Feasa, An Meangadh Beag and An Bricfeasta Blasa as a presenter, DJ, researcher, guest booker and more.My other writing has been published in the Irish Times, Irish Independent, RTE Online, the Daily Record, the Metro, Balls.ie, The Liberty and numerous other outlets.I was nominated for the Student Media Awards in 2017 and won the inaugural Football Blogging Award in 2012 while still in Secondary School.
