Financial Advisor, Tax Accounts, Business Advice.

I am acting Managing Partner of a Wallington Surrey company which has been operating as a Financial Services product sales and services including tax preparation, for the last 5 years. The Company services more than 1400 clients.

I opened a residential and commercial finance company to service a booming real estate and business market in Northern California. Originally staffed with four reps including my own personal sales, and one support staff to process loan applications, the company grew to employ forty-three persons. At its height in 2007 my brokerage closed one thousand eight hundred and twenty four loans, with the average loan of $386,000, at an average commission of 1.32% per loan. I was responsible for all hiring decisions and staff training, created time efficient support services that facilitated marketing, sales and processing. The average loan processing time was 23 days to funding and close.

With family partner, we created from the floor up, a seventy-seat restaurant, with pub and live music facility on a Scots/Irish theme. I was responsible for personal management, POS systems and accounting. On St. Patrick's Day, from opening, we established a music festival within the facility that sold thousands of corned beef and cabbage dishes, over 80 barrels of Guinness and grossed in excess of $35,000 in one day.

With partner Jerry Fish, we grew a five man financial planning office to manage over 1,000 clients and 250 million dollars in assets. Innovative marketing approaches included a thrice weekly seminar on asset protection to wealthy individuals; DVD production and distribution to prospective clients with assets in excess of $2.5 million who would not attend seminars; and a radio show which I hosted called "Manage your Money" on local radio station KTIDE San Rafael California. As well as marketing design and client base development I also handled staff training with regard to computer skills, financial planning techniques, and sales strategies. BFA changed its compensation structured in 1996 from commission or fee, to fee only based on assets under management. No high value sale was completed without my direct involvement.

My job was to market and sell insurance and securities products. In the first year I sold more than any other “rookie” receiving the “Rookie of the Year” award. In my second year I was 8th of 24,000 representative’s world wide receiving International Conference and the coveted “Ring of Champions” awards. I was promoted to sales manager prior to the end of my second year. I won the “President’s Trophy” award as the number one sales manager two years running. I was offered promotion to district manager, but turned the position down in favour of opening BFA.

Schools Curriculum Development Council - Higher Executive OfficerI was hired from college as an Executive Officer to a joint venture with the Department of Education and Local Education Authorities, to provide research support to the director of Program One, which brought educational professionals together with a view to developing an education for our children that embraced all the cultures in our society. I received three excellent progress reports and was promoted to Higher Executive Officer.
