Senior Instrument Technician
Current• Representative duties include:1) Oversee, manage and train staff. Responsible for performing a wide variety of skilled tasks including installation, repair, troubleshooting, planning, modification, designing, installation and calibration of all plant instrumentation, SCADA control and electrical systems for the WQCP. This is includes but is not limited to PLC's, VFD's, RTU's, supervisory control data acquisition (SCADA) systems, as well as all analytical equipment necessary for the WQCP to meet State of California Water Discharge Requirements.2) Verify the work of assigned staff for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards, specifications and City Policy. Assist in the hiring, evaluation and the performance of staff.3) Provide lead supervision to assigned staff on proper safety procedures related to all work performed. Manage, oversee and participate in safety and training sessions and seminars. Maintain records of all weekly Safety Meetings.4) Provide technical advice and support to operators, managers, and senior city engineering staff, and outside agency personnel, work with private engineering agencies. 5) Modify, design and change control circuits; install temporary systems to sustain operations.6) Ensure safe and reliable power to all plant processes, SCADA systems, fiber optic systems, and all other ancillary equipment. 7) Maintain efficient records on operations and activities. Coordinate and prepare a variety of reports.8) Interpret, modify, and redesign, blueprints, schematics for a variety of wastewater systems to adapt them to the plant process. 9) Estimate time, obtain lowest bids for job materials to make final recommendations for the purchase of required materials.10) Respond to emergency call-outs on nights, weekends and holidays. There is a 30 minute response time requirement.11) Work closely with management to make recommendations for our 5 and 10 year plans for the WQCP.
