Calculate labor and equipment requirements andproduction specifications, using standard formulas.• Conduct employee training in equipmentoperations or work and safety procedures, or assignemployee training to experienced workers.• Confer with management or subordinates toresolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.• Confer with other supervisors to coordinateoperations and activities within or betweendepartments.• Direct and coordinate the activities of employeesengaged in the production or processing of goods,such as inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators.• Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detectdefects or malfunctions.• Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, andcompany policies and procedures for workers.• Keep records of employees' attendance and hoursworked.• Maintain operations data, such as time,production, and cost records, and preparemanagement reports of production results.• Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and otherindicators to ensure that operators conform toproduction or processing standards.• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments,and production sequences to meet production goals.• Read and analyze charts, work orders, productionschedules, and other records and reports todetermine production requirements and to evaluatecurrent production estimates and outputs.• Recommend or execute personnel actions, such ashirings, evaluations, and promotions.• Recommend or implement measures to motivateemployees and to improve production methods,equipment performance, product quality, orefficiency.• Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts,or repair services.• Set up and adjust machines and equipment.
