Don Fields is an accomplished executive with demonstrated ability for delivering mission-critical results. He has 31+ years of multi-faceted experience in the automotive, medical device, appliance, plastics, and materials-recycling industries; and received training in the Toyota Production System under Japanese sensei at NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing Inc.), the groundbreaking Toyota/GM joint-partnership plant that was Toyota’s first manufacturing base in North America. Don has held senior leadership positions in large, multi-site manufacturing organizations with responsibility for financial performance, staff development, operations, product-line profitability, and continuous-improvement initiatives. He is also a US Navy veteran.Don launched his business, Fields and Associates in 2008 as a consultant for Management, Business & Manufacturing processes. Specializing in; Toyota Production System, Operation Turn Around, Manufacturing Diagnostics, Merger & Acquisition performance evaluation as well as on site Intermin Plant Management & Mentoring. Don's projects are all results driven with positive EBITDA impact.Most recently as a contract Senior Management consultant for TBMCG implementing Strategic and Tactical deployment at the operational and shop floor level. Prior to his work as a Lean Consultant Don served as Vice President and General Manager for Metaldyne Corporation, Don developed the business strategy and led the consolidation of operations to low cost regions and delivered savings of $10 million. He spearheaded union relations and developed a growth strategy to launch 15 new product lines resulting in a 10% improvement in operating margin.Prior to his work with Metaldyne, Don served as Vice President and General Manager of Creative Technology Services, a Johnson & Johnson medical device venture capital project, where he launched manufacturing sites for innovative products like the IBOT,a stable mobile-powered wheel chair.
