Badenoch & Strathspey Community ConnXions is a registered charity working to improve the lives and wellbeing of people in our community enabling them to remain independent for longer. Based in Aviemore, we provide accessible transport and social inclusion services to all those with a need in our local area.

This new role involves expanding on the range of active, sustainable and green travel initiatives leading to and from Inverness Campus. There are several elements to the role including Project management - Infrastructure development - Behaviour change - Active travel - Sustainable travel - Electric cars and bicycles.

Community Sport Hub's are a sportscotland initiative set up to develop sport & physical activity opportunities in local communities. My role involves coordinating a number of projects across Highland, working closely with clubs, sports facilities, schools and other organisations. I also work within the High Life Highland sports team to plan sport at a regional level. Key areas of work include:-People development - coordinating coaching & volunteering opportunities -Pathways for sport/physical activity - from school to club, health & wellbeing and physical activity -Profile - raising the profile of sport/High Life Highland on a local, regional & national level- Places - managing bunkhouse accommodation, growing membership and supporting facility development- Outdoor activities - managing the summer activity programme and setting up bespoke outdoor activity events

Scottish Cycling is the national governing body for cycling in Scotland. This role involved working to grow and develop cycle sport across the Highlands & Islands and on a national level while the sport enjoyed exceptional growth around the Glasgow 2014 games. Key projects included:- Re-structure of governance of the sport- Club support & development - Event development at regional & national level - Mountain Biking & Road Cycling - Coach & athlete development, working alongside British Cycling - Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) project - Partnership working with 3rd sector, sportscotland, local authorities on a range of projects

I coached the U14/U12 race team on and off snow and worked on a number of race camps around British Columbia and Alberta. This involved coaching athletes, lots of logistics and was a great learning experience. My powder skiing skills also improved significantly.

I spent the summer working for a leading surf school in Tofino, British Columbia. I learnt a lot about sales, business operations and adventure sports tourism in this very special part of Canada

U18 ski team on a full time basis at Silver Star mountain. This involved a lot of logistics as we traveled around the race circuit in BC & Alberta. I learned a lot from the Canadian system and worked along side several high performance coaches with national team experience. I also gained valuable insight into the club & NGB structure.

This role involved working with various stakeholders to grow and develop snowsports in Scotland. I had a national remit and worked alongside industry partners from local authorities, ski resorts, clubs, sportscotland & visitScotland. Key responsibilities & achievements Senior Team Member - working with the CEO, board, staff and stakeholders to develop policies, programmes and projects across different snowsports disciplines. I helped recruit and line manage 3 regional staff, this included developing work plans, managing budgets and developing monitoring & reporting systems. Course development & coach education – Organising courses, mentoring coaches and supporting tutors in Alpine, Snowboard and Nordic. Working as part of the Snowsports Touring Advisory Group (STAG). Working in partnership with the Scottish Avalanche Information Service we developed the Avalanche Awareness for Free-riders workshop across Scotland. Competition Pathways - Successfully developed the national events such as the Lowlander and Highlander freestyle series which was a competition pathway for skiers & snowboarders throughout Scotland. Coached at national team camps at home and abroad.
