Production Superintendent
East Point, Ga
Got my start with Flo-Pac Southeast as a Production Supervisor and worked my way up as the Purchasing Manager/Planner/and site HR Manager. Flo-Pac was purchased by Carlisle in May of 2003.Managed day-to-day production, shipping, maintenance of staple setting & molding operation. Maintained production during drastic changes by new management, including P/N changes, systems integration & a facility closure. Appointed Sr. Purchasing Manager by Presidents in recognition of strong efforts made increasing bottom line through creative thinking & yearly usage reductions for a combined 8% reduction in raw materials related to COGS. Solved problems to a project that had been tabled for 6-years (w/2-years & $100k invested). o 1st - Modified handle attachment to accept common 5/8 acme thread allowing next price point. o 2nd - Making 1-edge, convex vs. concave. Natural stresses of molded part caused edge designed to be straight, to concave. By making edge convex & adding a few flow lines, problem was solved in 4 months & cost $18k. 1-yr later, unit became #1 selling item, w/>$600k annual sales
