CurrentWorking with a range of clients and partners including the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA); the HARIS (Housing Association Resource for Investment scheme) Group; Highland Community Resources and, via Shetland Islands Council, the communities of Northmavine and Sandness and Walls.Consultancy services including, for example:• Leading for SFHA in areas of subsidy, procurement reform and guidance for housing associations and responding on behalf of SFHA on range of complex legislative proposals and official consultations including procurement reform; Planning and land reform; building standards and Compulsory Purchase Order review • Leading for SFHA in devising and leading Development conferences focusing on consruction innovation and need to increase development activity by HAs • Contributing a chapter on the history and key personalities of a rural housing association in the book, Affordable Homes in Rural Scotland, by Raymond Young • Reviewing and delivering the HARIS (the Housing Association Resource for Investment Scheme, a proposed new HA aggregating financial vehicle/model) business plan to Scottish Government on behalf of the 20 housing associations making up the HARIS Feasibility Working Group• Speaking widely about the HARIS concept including in the Republic of Ireland and Brussels and, on behalf of the HARIS Feasibility Group, preparing a detailed report recording the HARIS project, lessons learned and recommendations for the future• Co-consultant (with Highland Community Resources) in a study on the role of housing to support the sustainability of remote, rural communities in Shetland and a review of procurement policy and practice for a rural housing association.
