Over the course of my 35-year reinsurance career, I successfully assisted insurance company clients in obtaining billions of dollars of reinsurance capital in support of their underwriting business plans. I conceived, developed, and mastered analytic and stochastic modeling tools to quantify the value of the risk transfer and capital benefit provided by a reinsurance program to inform negotiations with the global reinsurance community and optimize the program structure for clients. Prior to starting my reinsurance career, I gained foundational insurance experience as a commercial P&C underwriter. During my initial 10 years with Aon as a treaty reinsurance broker with a broad range of clients, I leveraged my knowledge of statistics and computer science to develop innovative models and analytic tools. These tools not only expanded our broking and reinsurance program design capabilities but also played a crucial role in growing our client base.When in 1996 Aon decided to form a dedicated in-house Canadian reinsurance analytics team, I stepped up to be a leader in the effort and commenced adding personnel to the team. As a result, I have decades of experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training actuaries in reinsurance pricing and modeling principles.
