Founded company that provided telephony and data network installation, configuration and support for small and medium-sized businesses in Central Florida. In addition, providing high-end consulting services to large enterprise clients. Contract tasks included designing new networks, upgrading existing networks, testing proof of concept for new designs, vendor interoperability testing, performing SCADA logic reviews, and implementing VoIP.Selected Achievements:1. Engaged by Wolf Hollow Combined Cycle Power Plant to install SCADA system, coordinating wiring of power plant components to Foxboro SCADA cabinets and troubleshooting frame relay circuit problems.2. Contracted to National Linen Service, rolling out Cisco LAN and WAN upgrade of 1000 users throughout the Southeast, including providing VoIP functionality.3. Contracted with Siemens Communications on a project (Phases I and II) for the New York Transit Authority for 5 years. Highlights of work performed include: - Configuring and testing network components including, Fujitsu Sonet ADMs, Seabridge ATM switches (replaced with Marconi TXN1100C during Phase II), Nortel Passport 8600 router/switches (replaced with Cisco 8950s during contract), Nortel 1648T switches based on the formulated design, which allowed network recovery from fiber cuts. - Designed and tested proof of concept for Phase I & II of a multi-application network for New York Transit Authority’s 500+ node subway system utilizing multiple ATM loops, a SONET backbone, VoIP and OSPF routing. - Applied advanced troubleshooting and communication skills while participating in multiple vendor interoperability tests verifying that new vendors’ equipment placed in the network works with existing equipment and documenting any discrepancies.

Applied experience of PBX and data network configuration to new location, allowing standard IT staff to support existing IT network and users. Maintained voice and data networks after migration.2. Authored paper entitled "Kforce, Implementing QoS on LAN/WAN" for IT department specifying how to configure QOS using Cisco equipment giving voice priority to assist company corporate research of VoIP for remote satellite offices.3. Served as a member of the migration team during the acquisition and implementation of a new company into Kforce’s network. Designed IP addressing scheme and temporary static routes be used until new sites were placed on Kforce’s T1 circuits and Kforce’s IP addressing scheme implemented at new site.4. Joined local consulting firm to provide software and networking expertise, contracted to Vistakon as a network engineer. Responsible for designing and implementing strategy to replace existing company network.

Served Savannah Electric for 13 years with various responsibilities. Installed, maintained, and supported: (1) their first SCADA system that monitored the power grid, (2) their 1st self-maintained telephone system with Harris PBX’s, Harris microwave, NEC channel banks, ACD for customer service, and (3) their 1st data network with ethernet cabling. Selected Achievements:1. Designed Automatic Voice Recognition system for customers to report power outages, dramatically reducing the time required for customers to receive service; received President Award for efforts.2. Performed detailed analysis of PBX statistics in response to high incidence of busy signals, discovering lack of PBX tie lines between two significant sites; integrated unused resources from other areas into problem area, dramatically improving customer service without incurring additional expense. 3. Redesigned and re-coded 100 Energy Management System programs that enabled the integration of Savannah Electric systems with Southern Company systems after merger.
