About Donald Montgomery

I have been in music education for more than 47 years with the past 9 years as the Orchestra Director at Station Middle School in Barrington, Illinois. Six of those years were also working as a certified travel agent for Hemisphere Educational Travel(1998 to 2003), sending school groups all over the world on performance trips as well as educational tours.Specialties: Woodworking has been a wonderful part of my life. In 1985 I began to attend juried art shows with my special wooden boxes, hand mirrors, music boxes, quilt racks, and furniture. I also do commissioned works for a particular need, designing pieces as needed, and am currently working on a Connecticut Highboy copied after a 1737 museum piece. For the past 9 years I have also been a beekeeper, selling honey and bee products throughout the Chicago and northern Illinois area. Flying has always been a big part of my life, although it has become almost too costly. Flower and vegetable gardening, scuba diving, fishing, and working on my cedar strip canoe also keep me more than busy in my spare time
