As a part of a military family I lived in 51 different homes and 16 schools until adulthood, which helped to instill a strong appreciation for meaningful relationships and service to others. Home was not a physical location it was a relationship, it was simply where my family happened to be. For the last 30 years, I've called Kansas City my home and it's where I've chosen to raise my family and grow my business. I love both dearly and have tried to share my strong entrepreneurial desire with my 6 children.I began my career as a voluntary work-site benefit enroller and subsequently co-founded Health and Benefit System, Inc. d/b/a Benefit Communication Insourcing in 1986. In 2005 I purchased sole ownership of HBS to focus my energies and efforts into my passion for serving and educating others . As CEO, I've been able to assemble a like-minded team (some have become minority shareholders) that similarly believes that "with understanding comes appreciation" and employees, for the most part, don't understand their employee benefits. At Benefit Communication Insourcing we hope to change that mindset for employees through one-on-one communication and education sessions funded through ancillary employee benefits. I've been fortunate to expand my own insurance industry education earning a CLU, ChFC, and REBC designation, as well as, many consecutive years at Top of the Table, part of MDRT. I'm a member of Founders at Brigham Young University and continue to serve my community through various church and Boy Scout projects.
