As Director of Strategic Partnerships and College Planning, Donald has taken his expertise in college planning, supplemental education and college-readiness/academic achievement evaluation and assessment to the Eagle Academy Foundation to work with its network of four schools (three in NYC, 1 in Newark, NJ). Mr. Ruff strategically focuses on implementing, monitoring and enhancing a consistent and sustainable program for successful college entrance and completion, including community service initiatives, internships, summer programming, remediation strategies and college acclimation courses.

Donald was the first Director of College Counseling at the Eagle Academy for Young Men, EAF’s flagship school in the Bronx, NY. Under his guidance and leadership, the first four graduating classes of the Eagle Academy for Young Men gained admission to some of the top colleges and universities in the country including the United States Military Academy of West Point, Carnegie Mellon University, Morehouse College, and Howard University, among others. Eagle Scholars also earned millions of dollars in scholarships and aid most notably through the Posse Foundation Scholarship Program and the Gates Millennium Scholarship Program. In addition to his work with the college admissions process, Donald also established partnerships and placed students in a host of academic-based, college prep, career readiness and travel abroad program including programs such as Citizens Committee for Children, College Now (CUNY), Fordham STEP, Sponsor of Educational Opportunity (SEO), and Summer Search.

Promoted to Director, Mr. Ruff was responsible for assisting students in gaining admission to the most selective colleges and universities in the country. Under his leadership, 100% of the SEO Class of 2006 matriculated to four-year colleges.
