Created, developed, and licensed Optica software (www.opticasoftware.com), an optical design, modeling, and analysis software package based in Mathematica programming language. Optica is used by numerous businesses and academic institutions for optical applications. Notable customers include Lawrence Livermore, NASA, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Harvard University, University of Oxford, Microsoft Corporation, Canon USA, Inc., Intel Corporation, and Sony Corporation. • Continuously perform research and development, design, testing, and software analysis in order to understand market trends and meet needs of end users. • Manage marketing and promotion of Optica through distributors and at industry trade shows, scientific businesses, and academic institutions.• Consult with business, scientists, and engineers on a variety of optical design and modeling projects including hardware simulation, design, and validation. Notable clients have included Microsoft Corporation, Intel Corporation, Zebra Imaging, and the Long Now Foundation.• Teach optics classes including optical research, development, and industrial design at the University of Illinois as a visiting lecturer.
