Donald D. Baker is Professor Emeritus and the former Executive Director of the John D. Hromi Center for Quality and Applied Statistics at RIT. He is a consultant with industry, government, and educational institutions in the areas of Lean Six Sigma, quality standards and the assessment of quality systems. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, who has worked with numerous organizations in all sectors to implement the Lean Six Sigma programs, and train Yellow Belts, Green Belts and Black Belts. He also has guided many others in developing quality systems and documentation for registration under the ISO 9000 Quality Standards. He is a member of the US TAG to the ISO/TC 176 Committee, and has been the Lead Reviewer for a number of private, educational, and healthcare organizations that have applied for the New York State ESA Program and Governor's Award for Excellence, which are based on the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. He also has served as a Judge for the Ohio Quality Award Program.Dr. Baker has been Dean of RIT's College of Continuing Education as well as Associate Dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology, Director of the graduate program in Career and Human Resource Development and Director of the Counseling Center. He also served as a Senior Associate with the National Center on Education and the Economy while on leave from RIT. He has conducted research on the literacy skills of workers internationally, and on the education and skills expected of high school graduates.
