CurrentSagis' podiatric pathology team is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group focused on the diagnostics of toenails, wounds, skin, soft tissue, foot, ankle (lower extremities), and bone. We are fully recognized by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the city of Houston, Texas.Through long-time collaborative efforts, Sagis continues to offer excellent medical consultations to all physicians and hospitals. Our podiatric pathology diagnostics team can identify the most critical cases and provide our partners with state-of-the-art integrated solutions every time. When determining the most viable treatment options and recommendations for all patients, we work with peers across the country to ensure each patient’s best healthcare interests. And when servicing our partners, our team has an outstanding group of service couriers who guarantee the security and safety of all lab transports. As we continue to utilize a team-based approach from pick-up to diagnosis, our focus always remains on the patients.We are privileged to work with highly-trained, board-certified dermatopathologists. Dr. Jochen Schaefer has subspecialty expertise in podiatric pathology. He has trained in leading institutions such as Yale University School of Medicine, the University of California San Francisco, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and the University of Virginia.Our podiatry team utilizes only the latest advances in immunohistochemistry, fluorescent in-situ hybridization, and molecular testing. Therefore, we ensure the most accurate diagnoses possible and guarantee the delivery of concise reports.
