Reporting to the Vice President of Operations for Boundary, which is headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, I am responsible for strategic planning and business development for Boundary's hydraulic companies in BC.More specifically, Bridge Machine based in Port Coquitlam, BC, and Janox Fluid Power based in Delta, BC. Bridge has been in business since 1980.

Tsawwassen Terminal

Reporting directly to the Superintendent of BC Ferries Terminal Maintenance, I oversee and direct the efforts of the Tsawwassen Terminal Maintenance group. Through responsible maintenance practices, my team supports BC Ferries Operations in Delta, Richmond, and on Galiano Island.

Delta, BC

• Janox is a hydraulic contractor specializing in custom design/build projects for customers with hydraulic requirements.
• Responsible for maintaining profitability of operations, from quoting through to commissioning
• Oversaw management of all production efforts in shop and at various concurrent job-sites throughout the province
• Sales and customer-liaising with large key accounts (BC Hydro, BC Ferries, etc.).

Delta, BC

• High-level conceptual design, managing/mentoring of Engineering staff, senior project management
• Responsible for detail design of complex hydraulic circuits, components, and controls systems
• Commissioning of major projects throughout BC
• Responsible for hydraulics design/install/commissioning of $60 million multi-year coal terminal expansion at Ridley in Prince Rupert.

Delta, BC

• While attending full time Engineering Studies, worked part-time on various as follows:
• Senior design work on systems and cylinders
• Managing site installation efforts
• Mentoring junior engineering staff and shop staff.

Delta, BC

• Managed shop staff and field service technicians
• Installed and commissioned hydraulics on a $20 million marine ramp, the world’s largest marine ramp ever built using proprietary seismic resistance technologies
• Increased morale, and built well-rounded team of Tradespeople
• Improved processes around manufacture, assembly, and testing.

• Designed largest hollow rod jack in the World, complete with proprietary compensating ring system
• Developed the modern system of pre-fab pipe installation, resulting in a market advantage over companies who build/install pipe to suit at site
• Designed/assembled/tested complete electrical control systems for major industrial hydraulic projects.

Abbotsford, BC

• Performed trailer design under supervision of Engineering Manager
• Trailers included highway trains, off-road container trailers, and curtainside trailers (taut-liners and china-tops)
• Assisted in the development and implementation of testing methods to ensure winch compliance with CMVSS standards
• Played a significant role in the evaluation and selection of engineering software (final decision was to purchase SolidWorks, but SolidEdge, IronCAD, and ProEngineer were all possible candidates at the time).
