During my career in the computer industry I have always sought to improve myself, and support my employer’s technical needs. I believe that customer service is vital and regard my employer and fellow employees as my customers. I have taught many classes on the use of computers and networks and have never met a person who couldn’t learn. My training has enabled some of them who previously had little computer background to become computer experts.I believe that as an employee one must go the extra mile, work outside the box and strive to improve, even if it isn’t in the job description. As such, I have found myself working on welders, medical equipment, and once during hunting season, on a hospitals boiler (all other maintenance personal were off hunting). I have researched, coordinated, installed and administered a 200 station phone system for a hospital in addition to my regular IT duties.At Colorado Fire Sprinkler I came into an environment that was sorely lacking in the computer system area. I designed systems, software, networks and network infrastructure that literally doubled the project manager’s efficiency and project output.At UDOC, I redesigned the network infrastructure and solved many bottle necks, packet losses and data corruption issues they had been facing for years.At Allen Memorial Hospital I came into a very old IBM minicomputer environment, wrote several computer grant applications (all but one awarded). Designed, built, and wrote software for a new Server/PC network and trained all employees on its use. I was so successful that the managing company for the hospital had me traveling to other hospitals they managed to refine, upgrade and maintain those networks, and provide training and support to their employees.I work best in a team environment, but am also a self-starter and highly motivated. I understand business needs and priorities. I can manage and be managed.
