Served as the warrant officer (WO), officer direct appointment (ODA), Officer Candidate School (OCS), and officer/WO reappointment point of contact (POC) for Army Reserve (AR) and prior service civil life gain (PS CLG) Soldiers located within their area of responsibility. Duties of the SR OANCO may include but are not limited to-a. Assisting OANCOs with identifying WO, ODA, OCS, and officer/WO reappointment candidates through prospecting, unit referrals, and unit presentations.b. Implementing a marketing plan.c. Ensuring completeness of WO, ODA, OCS, and officer/WO reappointment application packets with all required enclosures.d. Providing life cycle career management; interviewing and counseling Soldiers to assist with determining and achieving individual goals, desires, training opportunities, and identifying Army programs to fit the specific individual based on qualifications.e. Establishing rapport with troop program unit (TPU) command leadership and other key unit personnel. Conducting retention related briefings to supported units to assist in identifying WO, ODA, OCS, and officer/WO reappointment prospects.f. Assisting in the preparation and processing of exception to policy (ETP) requests for incentives.h. Maintain proficiency in the utilization of a multitude of personnel and security related databases.i. Serving as a primary or alternate Security Manager at BN HQ. Assisting Soldiers in BN with completing and processing security clearance requests using the Personnel Security Investigation Portal (PSIP) as applicable. Utilizing Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT), Defense Central Index of Investigations (DCII), DMDC, and any other systems/applications as needed.j. Maintaining files in accordance with USAR Regulation 140-6, Army Regulation 25-400-2, as applicable, and/or BN policy or standard operating procedure (SOP).
