Studied and reviewed with the operators, to understand and develop work flow diagrams for VSM for prescriptions’ cycle times. After mapping, designed the mechanical layout for the pharmacy’s expansion, using six sigma principles, increased their prescription and order output in mail order, script packs, cold packs, specialty and high cost cold packs improving product flow, space utilization, quality, and productivity. This includes new equipment and re-use of existing decommissioned equipment from RS1 in Phoenix, AZ. The pharmacy expansion is to increase order output and profits. Increased the vial labeler’s daily production from 1,100 orders to 2,084, reorganized and relocated a packing operation to provide room for expansion, and identified waste.

Process Engineer, Sharonville, OH (2001 – 2003)Process engineer for an automotive gear line. Saved nearly $500K by increasing the average tool life from 60,000 parts to 110,000 on a $56.7K helical broach bar exceeding assignment objective of 20% improvement.  Identified the “root cause” of weld failure, eliminating the need for visual inspection by a technician, also protecting the customer (eliminating an added inspection position).  Eliminated additional technician’s manual deburring operation with new tooling. Reduced scrap by reducing contamination on gears. Improved machine cycle times.

Manufacturing Engineer, Sharonville, OH (1999 – 2001)Part of team responsible for resolving issues on a 35 station (18 CNC) flexible machining line with 7 turret heads and 9 stationary tables capable of 300,000 cases per year and a 42 second cycle time to produce six different rear-wheel drive transmission cases with two variations. Reduced model changeover time from over eight hours to two.  Reduced machine failures by prioritizing modifications. Improved productivity 26% Addressed case line issues by working with suppliers to design new seals and multi-cavity mold design to reduce costs, down time, increasing tool life providing a 40% cost savings (redesigned seals and dyes) while improving seal change downtime.
