It has spent 15 years developing its revolutionary, patent-protected ingredient technology. At the core of its technology platform is a material called RHEON, which is soft and malleable in its natural state, but hardens immediately and temporarily upon impact. Its unique shape makes it waterproof, cooling, lightweight and durable.

Cloudreach (www.cloudreach.com) has enabled some of the largest and best-known enterprises in the world to realise the benefits of cloud.It is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Partner and a Microsoft Azure Gold Cloud Platform Partner. Its cloud Managed Services was named a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader in March 2017 and it offers on-going financial, security and governance management. It develops and implements its own software products and resells a select list of third party software. Cloudreach has recently experienced hyper-growth with revenues growing approximately 8x during the period 2014 to 2017. Headcount exceeded 300 during 2017 compared to 75 in 2014. It has recently announced the opening of its seventh office in Europe and fifth office in North America. Blackstone acquired Cloudreach in February 2017 and the transaction was a massive success story for the founders and employee share option holders. I joined Cloudreach in November 2014 as Head of Finance and my role was extended to Head of Finance & Business Operations in May 2015. Business Operations includes the legal team, sales operations and office management. I reported to the two co-CEOs (co-founders).

Reaqua Systems Limited developed an innovative water reuse device that reduces residential drinking water consumption by collecting and treating grey-water (bath and shower wastewater) and reusing it for toilet flushing. It was a Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) portfolio company.

Clients include: RBS, Ingenico, Keelings Group and Biznet Solutions. My biggest achievement was leading the planning and delivery of a 30-person Shared Services Centre (SSC) for the accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions of the Keelings Group (multinational fresh produce group with £250m turnover and 1,700 employees). I created a project team of six people, each focused on AR, AP, IT, ERP systems, HR and group finance. I led the implementation of a new document management system and supporting changes to the finance and ERP systems. The SSC project drove significant change and it was my responsibility to manage this change by working closely with business unit management.

Biznet Solutions Limited (www.biznetsolutions.com) develops cloud-based supplier performance management software forthe energy industry. Customers include BP, Shell, TNK-BP, Alyeska Pipeline, Conoco Phillips, Chevron and Repsol. I was responsible for finance and admin. My biggest achievement during my role was preparing a strategic business plan, leading the business’ preparation for venture capital funding and securing a £2m investment. I also secured financial assistance from Invest Northern Ireland totalling over £400k and R&D tax credits of over £200k. I worked closely with the sales director to understand the sales pipeline and managed the implementation of a salesforce.com solution. I led a pricing policy review with the sales team to create a more understandable, strategic and profitable pricing policy and led the commercial, financial and legal review customer contracts. I worked closely with operations to understand the business’ cost base and project profitability in detail. I led a review of operating costs and the organisation chart in the context of a new business strategy and implemented a 25% reduction in operating costs.

BDO (www.bdo.ie) had the second largest Corporate Finance team in Dublin. I was part of its 25-strong SME-focused Corporate Finance team. I focused on advising clients on acquisitions, advising business start-ups (eg. www.ezetop.com), developing large and complex financial models, preparing strategic business plans and preparing commercial and financial due diligence reports.

I provided Private Finance Initiative (PFI) advisory services to public sector clients. My most notable project was advising the Irish government on the Convention Centre Dublin project, a 25-year Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain PFI contract with a £104m build cost. My responsibilities included drafting financial sections of PFI tender documentation and PFI legal contracts, reviewing detailed 25-year financial models, financially evaluating bids received and negotiating PFI contracts with preferred bidders.

My main audit clients were Ballymore Properties UK, Diageo plc, United Beverage Group (Diageo’s Irish beverage distributor)Motor Distributors Limited (large Irish vehicle importer), Australian Worldwide Exploration plc, (Sydney) and Mentec Group (Systems integration and hardware solutions business).
