After two years of training, I stepped on board my first nuclear powered submarine to operate and maintain nuclear propulsion plants. I have spent my time learning and striving to be a better operator, supervisor, and leader. I've led divisions of 12-16 personnel in the maintenance, training, and operations of nuclear power plants. Over half of my ten years of service have involved extensive planning for maintenance and operations to ensure continued operation of mechanical systems. Three years were dedicated to training the next generation of nuclear operators at the Navy's shore-based training facility where I assisted in the qualification of more than 2,000 junior sailors. My highest qualifications are Engineering Watch Supervisor, Engineering Duty Petty Officer, and Quality Assurance Planner. I reached my qualification goals in the spring of 2018 and have been motivating subordinates to achieve their goals ever since.
