Provide (ABA) Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy to children with Autism ages 2-12

I am responsible for counseling juvenile individual clients and facilitating groups to assist with coping skills, daily living skills, and providing therapeutic counseling to address all areas of mental health. I am responsible for collecting behavior data and assessments that provide accurate information to the facility psychologist

While under supervision counseling I counseled 6 individuals, with 2 groups being married couples. I facilitated weekly groups to help assist individuals facing everyday issues. I completed and prepared all counseling files and sessions for supervision.

I provided safety and security in a 24 hour facility for 96 temporarily housed youth receiving treatment for anger management and charged for sexual offenses. I provided individual and group counseling which included life and social skills that helped assist the youth once released into the community. I supervised 8-10 employees daily, and assisted with monitoring daily activities. I was responsible for completing paperwork when youth were admitted and discharged from the facility. As a JSO III my responsibility was to intervene and de-escalate all disturbances and crisis situations. I provided supervision and monitored visitation between families and the juveniles. I was a certified instructor for Handle w/care which taught the staff members techniques on how to verbally defuse a situation and the proper techniques to restrain when needed. I was responsible for the weekly and monthly reports on all juveniles in the facility. I acted as acting supervisor when needed, arranging juvenile’s transfers and admission into the facility.
