Lead Architect of Motorola products designed in accordance with corporate standards, as well as Accelerated Life Testing goals and ipx7 water standards. Key member of the team involved in all design aspects from concept through to production. Responsibilities encompassed R&D, innovative product design, prototypes, drawings/modeling, component selection/procurement, testing, failure analysis, quality control, production and product launch. ✓ Met all development schedule dates, as well as quality standards and shipped product on time. ✓ Interfaced effectively with various disciplines including Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Business Team and Antenna Engineering to ensure optimization of product requirements, size and appearance. ✓ Drove all aspects of mechanical design including product decoration to ensure cost effective manufacturing solutions.✓ Worked on products including 3rd Generation Moto G, launched July 2015 meeting ip67 per IEC 60529 submersion requirements; 2nd Generation Moto E, launched June 2014; and i1 first Nextel smartphone, launched 2010.✓ Developed robust architectural design for platforms and products to support current and future product roadmap. ✓ Provided development support from conception through to market release. ✓ Collaborated with ODM/JDM teams both domestically and overseas to drive successful product development initiatives.✓ Drove engineering processes to improve efficiency of engineering team through the implementation of best practices. ✓ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and first point of contact in managing all client interactions.✓ Required traveled to China, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong to approve factories and work with manufacturing to provide tooling design expertise, deliver training and quality support and address tooling and manufacturing issues.

Member of the iDEN Mechanical Design Center responsible for future product roadmap concepts and designs including the i90 and v950 Nextel phones. Involved in many aspects of the project lifecycle including concept, design, failure analyses, modification, redesign, prototyping, testing, preparation of specifications, and documentation.✓ Products included the i90, the smallest flip phone in the iDEN portfolio and the v950, which met ip67 per IEC 60529 submersion requirements. Designed the plastic enclosures, sheet metal components, key pads and flex circuits.✓ Collaborated with product development and production teams to implement on time delivery per business plan. ✓ Initiated early supplier involvement to ensure scheduled dates were met.✓ Developed several Sprint Nextel PTT phones meeting the Motorola quality requirements.✓ Designed Android smartphones with PTT for Nextel International.✓ Created architectural MCAD assemblies utilizing the ProE Creo development application suite.✓ Managed multiple projects diligently under aggressive deadlines while also coming in under budget.✓ Defined and implemented best practices/procedures in conjunction with cross-departmental engineering initiatives.

Led the design and packaging of several for iDEN PTT phones, as well as Sr. Staff Engineers in product architecture as it related to iDEN phone. Responsible for the design of plastic housings, sheet metal components, keypads, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and flexible circuits.✓ Mentored other engineers in the design of plastic, sheet metal, and rubber components utilizing six-sigma methodology.✓ Maintained a thorough understanding of plastic, sheet-metal, audio, Flexible PCB circuits, PCBs, Display Technologies, connector, rubber, etc. Developed prototypes as proof of concept for future products.✓ Achieved quality standards by root causing and defined corrective actions for failures detected during Accelerated Life Testing (ALT).✓ Created unique designs that were congruent with company brands and reflected the current and upcoming trends.✓ Translated customer requirements to product specifications and features to ensure the product met the needs of the customer.✓ Provided failure analysis on accelerated life testing failures and instituted design improvements based on the results.✓ Delivered documentation to support qualification of piece part and final product assemblies.
