Lead for a team of over 55 developers (13 scrum teams) on Next Generation Estimating product. Introduced concepts of unit, integration, smoke, and load testing to various teams. Architect and lead developer for Next Generation Estimating product – a web-based assignment and estimating solution designed to retire the company’s flagship estimating solution (a 20+ year old thick-client application designed for DOS / windows systems). Brought the application from concept to production in a 2.5 year period (with interim deliveries of functionality which allowed for self-funding of development). Organized and lead several tiger team efforts to re-engineer key aspects of development. Efforts include migration to React from AngularJS, componentization of web components leveraging WebPack, TypeScript and Yeoman, redesigning SASS standards to leverage stylesheets built with a live style guide and subsequently maintained by UX department, and designing a custom smoke and load test solution complete with Jenkins integration and Angular 4 UI.Designed and created 200+ modules to handle product behaviors such as vehicle decoding and parts selection. Created these modules from a wide variety of independent directives that handled everything from VIN barcode scanning via an iOS application, SVG manipulation and selection, badging, progress reporting, and user assistance messaging. Developed RESTful WebAPI services utilizing Entity Framework, SQL Server, and Oracle to support a wide variety of independent operations. Advocated the use of these services across the organization as part of a general SOA.Placed on a team to help turn around an ailing WPF application that was designed to allow field appraisers to receive and process assignments. Efforts directly responsible for the first successful release after several failed betas.

Lead efforts to upgrade the technology being utilized in the development of the primary website. Provided justification for the necessity of using n-tier architecture as well as new website technology to both IT management and the chief operating officer via the use of a ‘buckets vs. pipes’ metaphorical presentation. Architected and created the FitNav platform – a virtual trainer system designed to allow users to get custom workouts generated based on their specific exercise background and goals.Advocated and lead the project to convert the primary website from .NET 2.0 to 4.0 as well as upgrading the aging source safe system to team foundation server system.Designed and created the ACE scheduling system using WCF and Quartz .NET to allow for the scheduling and execution of pre-defined as well as arbitrary code tasks such as sending email or SMS / MMS messages, generating reports, performing file system-based tasks, etc.Worked on a project to redesign and rewrite the web store – responsible for more than 80% of the company’s total revenue – using an HTML5 / JQuery frontend, web services, and an Entity Framework backend.Implemented a site-wide error logging and reporting system allowing for easy identification and correction of errors. Data logged from this system allowed for the resolution of 63% of all systematic 500 errors occurring regularly on the website in less than a week.Wrote web services allowing integration with external sources such as FedEx web services API, Facebook graph API, and Google maps API. Said services allowed for real-time shipping calculations, offline social media updates, and heat map creation.Developed a XML generating and parsing system for use in synchronizing mailing list data with Blue Hornet email marketing systems eliminating a time-consuming and error-prone manual process.

Developed a complete system for the collection, validation, conversion, and submission of claim data to outside organizations based on strict government requirements. Designed and developed the infrastructure in addition to modular components for a company-wide healthcare management system.
