Donald J. Cazayoux, Jr is the former United States Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana and a former Congressman and State Representative. Cazayoux has over twenty years of legal experience as a civil and criminal litigator. After receiving his Doctor of Law from Georgetown University, Cazayoux returned to practice in the Baton Rouge area, where he focused primarily on consumer oriented claims, such as industrial accidents, other accidents causing death and/or severe injuries, and consumer class actions largely on behalf of individuals, and to a lesser degree defending small businesses. During his tenure as U.S. Attorney, Cazayoux directed efforts to reduce healthcare and disaster-related fraud. Also while U.S. Attorney, Cazayoux served as the Executive Director of the National Center for Disaster Fraud, which oversees the nation-wide receipt and distribution of fraud claims arising out of natural and man-made disasters, including the BP gulf oil spill disaster.
