Prepares and assembles maps, tables, charts, and technical reports on planning projects. Ensures that reports are prepared in accordance with policy and practices; presents technical and administrative reports and studies; prepares written correspondence, as necessary. May prepare and present material for oral and graphic presentation to jurisdictional boards and commissions, and community groups.

This position calls for a dynamic individual with an energetic, confident personality and an eagerness to take initiative to uphold company goals for quality consulting services. Understanding the construction process, understanding the permitting process, understanding building/zoning code, reading/analyzing construction documents, managing small- and large-scale projects, and communicating city requirements and facilitating all aspects of permitting with the Client and Team will be a major component of this role. The position will involve a great deal of multi-tasking, communicating via all methods available, paying close attention to detail and travel while maintaining a positive attitude and working in a fast-paced environment.

Planning intern position with similar experience and responsibilities as a planning assistant. Responsibilities included; working the public counter, reviewing plans and applications to deem completion for acceptance, answering phone calls, drafting staff reports, and general land use and entitlement questions. Project assignments ranged from Conditional Use Permits, Accessory Dwelling Units, and Minor Site Plan Reviews. Project duration for assigned projects began with processing submitted application packets all the way up to presenting projects before the Planning Commission.
