Overall responsibility for global communications for the $2bn MacDermid Performance Solutions division, covering the Industrial, Electronics, Graphics, Automotive, and Assembly businesses. Chaired a team of communications and marketing pros throughout MPSs global locations. Gate-keeper for Element's corporate communication assets, including internet, intranet, IP, press release, and certain corporate comms. I continued to lead technical marketing for the $500mn Electronics business and kept responsibility for the Photovoltaics initiative.

Identified an opportunity for extension of MacDermid's chemical knowledge and global capabilities into the adjacent space of silicon solar cells. Full 'start-up' responsibility, including staffing, CapEx, R&D, sales, government/industry partnerships. Successful installations throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, including a global record for silicon cell conversion efficiency. My team formulated novel, patent-protected chemistry applied in cooperation with leading equipment providers for multiple top-10 cell manufacturers - all supported by a compelling marketing/advertising/publication program.

Starting as an R&D chemist and moving into R&D management, my team patented various technologies that, over 20+ years, generated more than $1 billion of gross profit. I brought disruptive technologies to leading Printed Circuit Board manufacturers via seminars, conferences, and customer demonstrations in 40+ countries. As the electronics industry out-sourced, I created the role of OEM and Assembly Applications manager, deploying teams of seasoned experts to the electronics industry supply chain. Eventually, I assumed leadership of value proposition communications for our MacDermid Alpha Electronic division.
