Don Durkee is a former Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 40 years of counseling, consulting, and executive coaching experience. As a counselor, he maintained an active therapy practice in Rome, Georgia, where he treated clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). One of his main areas of concentration has been adult survivors of child abuse. He holds M.S. and Ed.S. degrees in Professional Counseling with a specialization in psychotraumatology. He is also trained in stress management and clinical hypnosis, and he still provides clinical consultation for other mental health professionals upon request.Don is a former President of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCA) and was named Counselor of the Year for the state of Georgia for 2014-2015 and winner of the Linda Painter Outstanding Service Award for 2017-2018. He also holds the designation of Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). Don has spoken on clinical topics at conferences in Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, and various locations in Georgia, and he currently conducts advanced educational workshops for practicing clinicians.
