    Chair of Selectboard serving as town's executive board, with overall responsibility for the town's operations including administration, public safety, waste management, and public works. Elected Selectperson striving to transform local government & ensure the upgrade to fiber optics throughout town - reaching the 43% unserved (without internet access) and 95% underserved (poor internet access). Successfully secured Federal & State grants to upgrade infrastructure to fiber optics in 2024/2025.• Non-school appointing authority for town boards & committees (i.e., planning board, budget, education, technology, & other services.)• Enter into & negotiate contracts on behalf of the municipality. • Sort out the various situations to determine the town's best overall course of action. • Active in the financial management of the town.• Promote citizen & administration team approach for addressing the town's issues.• Drive the budget process, directly reviewing budget requests & having input at all levels of the process. • Provide leadership in developing a capital improvement program, infrastructure development (i.e., broadband), & risk management policies.• Assume a lead role in all issues or policies with broad implications for the town's financial condition, including tax classification, free cash policy, use of a stabilization fund, financial reporting, and the audit process.(The details of the duties & responsibilities are outlined in a publication by the Maine Municipal Association)

Leveraging nonprofit experience and industry contacts to facilitate the start-up, secure funding, and ensure fiscal due diligence. Drseden Digital Equity, Inc. is a Maine nonprofit organization formed to promote access to broadband internet for the residents of the Town of Dresden (Maine). DDE is established to support those who cannot or might not otherwise be able to afford that access and, in so doing, provide relief to the poor (13.7%), the distressed (10.6%), or the underprivileged through the Town of Dresden, Maine - irrespective of race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, or economic status, or religion. We secured a grant covering the entire cost of upgrading the telecommunications infrastructure to fiber optics, enabling the Town to move into the 21st century!
