The store I most recently worked for is the Generation model of the Gap Outlets. There are only a few of this store design so we have to adapt Visual Presentation to this particular location. I have found that I love the challenge of creating a presentation that has surpassed gross margin and average unit retail of the company. I feel I am at my best when I have the freedom to be creative with the elements given to me.**** So that's the party line. What really excites me is getting a 50 something year old woman to give up her mom jeans and try a skinny jean in a gorgeous color and realize she is not too old for them! Or a middle-aged man to abandon his relaxed fit jeans, three button polo and white walking shoes and try an outfit that makes his wife proud to go out to dinner with him! I love helping an adolescent girl bridge the gap between childhood and growing up by finding appropriate garments to flatter her developing body without looking inappropriate. The worst argument I ever had with my husband was making him give up his Member's Only jacket. My argument was that he was not 70. He was not in any club. And he was no longer a medium size. We survived. I love visual and merchandising challenges. I have a way of reading the demographic of an area and realizing which merchandising style will work.I have also evolved into a bit of a locavore. I love trying local products and am developing an appreciation for local designers, musicians, growers, brewers and vintners. My family nickname is the "Encyclopedia of Useless Knowledge" or the "Elephant Who Never Forgets." I have a great memory and a mind for trivia. Only my aversion to cameras prevents me from becoming the next Ken Jennings on Jeopardy.I have relocated to my hometown of Roanoke,VA to be closer to family and replant my roots. I am glad to return to a slower pace of life and get reacquainted with my hometown.
