Profile bio

About Don Howe

Award winning Producer Don Howe has over 25 years’ experience producing large scale projects for motion picture visual effects/animation, broadcast television, integrated advertising campaigns, and interactive content. After 6 years producing TV spots for national clients in Detroit and Los Angeles, Don moved west to work as a Production Manager and Producer for such companies as Crossroads Films, STORY, Giraldi Suarez Prod, Mattel (LA), & Colossal Pictures (SF). His knowledge of cross-disciplinary production methodologies for complex combining of 2D & 3D animation, VFX with live-action, and other tasks (from stage shoots to implementation of coding teams) necessary for big-budget projects enabled him to produce over 100 digital VFX- laden national commercials, as well as a 70mm motion simulator ride, an interactive movie, and a half a dozen navigators for VOD using traditional and CGI animated content that drove highly participatory interactive experiences in 3D worlds. After Colossal, Don co-founded Curve, Inc. where the company’s purpose was bringing transformative immersive Virtual Reality content to consumers. Challenged by low-poly 3D web graphics and the ultra-low quality of affordable VR headsets, Curve, Inc.’s vision was ahead of its time and potential investors were underwhelmed. Don went back to high-end entertainment and spent over 13 yrs. at Tippett Studio managing VFX crews & the recruitment of new talent as the Studio’s workload increased. By 2014, his passion naturally led to Recruiting the best talent for ILM’s locations in SF & Vancouver. Now, Don’s pioneering efforts in the then burgeoning field of VR 1.0 are brought back to bear with the arrival of VR 2.0. Don’s non-gaming VR concepts intend to improve the well-being of societies the world over using the greatest communication platform yet.

Listed skills include Visual Effects, Animation, Film, Computer Animation, and 45 others.
