I am an experienced and dedicated executive-level manager currently directing the operations of a multi-faceted tour and activity corporation. I love the challenges of management and operations and have a proven track record of success in the various levels where I have been able to hone my skills and build my experience. My background includes operations management and sales positions in small companies, hospitality chains, major corporations, and non-profits. My leadership training started when I was 15 years of age and joined the Civil Air Patrol as a cadet. In that organization, I earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award, the highest cadet achievement awarded to less than 1% of all cadets. I am one of only 13 cadets from Maine to accomplish this since 1965.My leadership skills were truly tested when I served the American Red Cross as the Director of Emergency Services for the Portland Chapter during the September 11th attacks on our Nation. I successfully coordinated the efforts of hundreds of people who wanted to help in some way. I organized large-scale training opportunities to provide a path for people to serve those affected by that tragedy, and I am proud that those efforts paid off with dozens of Mainers providing direct services to those who most needed it. There were other stops along the way, including management for a start-up fast-casual restaurant chain, sales territory manager for a high-end hospitality-focused Point-of-Sale provider, and data supervisor for a world leader in logistics and delivery services. Over the past several years I have developed a new set of skills in Social Media and Digital Marketing. I provide all of the written word and visual content that is our online presence, and I direct and write for the blog on behalf of our company.All of this has prepared me for my current role, to lead and direct a start-up company that provides unexpected and unforgettable experiences in culinary and experiential tourism.
