Don coordinated the planning and implementation of outdoor recreation infrastructure which included the design, layout, and construction of trails and bridges within Delaware State Parks and other state resource areas while balancing resource protection issues. He drafted a statewide water trail gap analysis and delivered scouting reports, photography, and GIS maps for the Nanticoke River Water Trail project - as part of the National Park Service Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. He conducted GPS assessments and data collection, and performed GIS mapping. He organized planning workshops, engaged local stakeholders, and built consensus and partnerships for state and regional projects of conservation value. The results enhanced access points, preserved strategic lands, and increased recreational opportunities.
