Worked on a proof of concept VoIP rollout for a large manufacturing facility based in Melbourne, Victoria. Project managed all aspects of the rollout which was based on Alcatel voice switching, integrated with IM & VoIP based on Microsoft LINC Servers - alongside Alcatel MyIC & Teamwork servers. Dual offsite data centers, built to serve up to 15,000 IP phones using SIP trunking fully meshed for around 90 remote sites.This role was primarily a project management role with responsible for the implementation team of 6-8 engineers working on the installation and integration of various required features as per the POC/Contract documents. Daily meetings to establish status and prioritize next steps were the norm. The work was in a mixed datacentre and customer site environment.This was a contract position with VoIP Pty Ltd to oversee the completion of a pilot/proof of concept for Bluescope Steel – a manufacturing company based in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) the pilot demonstrated the effectiveness of a complete replacement of Bluescope Steels’ existing voice infrastructure with an Alcatel VoIP solution integrated with Microsoft Exchange & the LYNC VOIP Server platform.
