The ability to understand and relate to the needs and problems of diversified communities.My personal nursing philosophy begins with defining what it is to be a nurse. “Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations” (ANA, 2013). In order to achieve the goals of a nurse, I will need to respect, be honest, and protect the privacy of my patients. Maintain a caring and compassionate environment for my patient. I will be attentive to my patient individual needs, by support healing for their mind, body, spirit; and respecting the patient’s cultural, values, and personal beliefs. I will honor the dignity of every individual that I care for. I will offer holistic therapies to complement their conventional medical therapies. I will act as a facilitator to help my patient, restore balance and harmony to their body. Educated my patient on their individual disease process, so the can increase their knowledge. I want to empower my patient and guide them toward self care. As a nurse I what to continue my education and learn from experiences.
