Upon assuming the role of Chief Operations Officer in 2006, my first task was to oversee and facilitate the completion of an indoor skate park, café and concert facility for the organization. Subsequent to the completion, opening and handoff of management of the Edge64 facility, my responsibilities were, simply stated, oversight of customer service and the company’s business office operations. This encompassed purchases, business insurance, maintenance, security and compliance of building and property, company vehicles and parking lot. Operating on both the strategic and functional levels in the company allowed me to develop and oversee internal controls, monitor and manage expenses and enhance communication within the organization.I was tasked with responsibility for coordinating, organizing and executing major events on numerous occasions, including staff and donor events. The most recent example is that of the 75th Anniversary celebration held in Charlotte, NC in 2014.My role also included working directly with our Board of Trustees to organize and facilitate meetings, assist in the preparation of reports and Minutes, and other capacities as requested by the CEO or Chairman of the Board.
