Writing nonfiction books, nature photography, and designing jewelry from natural treasures, is my way of sharing our incredible world with others. I hope the beauty I see, and my enthusiasm, not only shines through my work, but becomes contagious.

The Society for Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) is the largest organization (21,000 members) of its kind in the world. I belong to the Southern Breeze region of SCBWI (Alabama, Georgia & Mississippi, USA) which has approximately 600 members. I enjoyed being at the helm of Southern Breeze as a Regional Advisor. I had the honor of helping members cultivate their knowledge, skills, and network through conferences, retreats, contests, newsletters, and an extensive web site. It was thrilling to showcase our incredibly talented members to the world. But best of all, was/is watching enthusiastic kiddos enthralled in a published book written or illustrated by one of our members, and watching the member be equally spellbound in that magical moment. It's hard to tell who benefits the most.
