I started in the Hermiston Processing Plant in the lab for quality assurance. After being qualified I went to packaging operator and got qualified in that position. I then knew that my goal was to get qualified in every position I could. I then went to being the lead of Packaging and running a crew. I was a process operator on all 4 lines that we ran there at the time, making choices on the raw and the quality of the product on the line, which was fries, hash browns, patties ,shreds, stuffed potatoes and many other varieties of potato products. I then went to being a package mechanic for a few years. Eventually I decided move up to the Research and Development side of the company. There I started out on the bakery side of the company working on developing new ideas and formulas for products and testing. I then moved in the Research and Development side back to the world of working with potatoes, again. Working on new ideas for what to do with potatoes and reducing cost in formulas. Finding new and existing vendors that had better quality of products or even they were a matching ingredient with a lower cost. So then I would test with current product and formulas to new formulas to insure that the quality remained the same if not better. The next step was working in a seclude lab on new equipment and new products. It was all interesting with new equipment and ideas to try all the time. In time that ran out and I moved back to the Research and Development side of potatoes and equipment. I have been a very busy person I also work with vendors and suppliers for cheaper cost and to maintain good relations with the vendors we have. I work with contractors that come in to do repairs and always meeting new people. My goal when working with people is to respect them and in return they respect me.
