I enjoy painting landscapes, figurative and still life works in pastels and oils. I have taken workshops from nationally recognized artists and I have won numerous awards. I am currently president of the Oklahoma Pastel Society and a member of several other art associations. I am represented by the House Gallery in Oklahoma City, OK. My website is donnabranson.com.

Regents Professor Donna Hahn Branson created a career in the area of apparel systems design, production, and performance evaluation in protective clothing. She earned a Ph.D. in Family Ecology, emphasizing functional apparel design, from Michigan State University (MSU) in 1982. She was hired as associate professor in the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising (DHM) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 1983, having previously taught at the University of Rhode Island and MSU. She became professor in 1987 and department head in 1993, with DHM achieving considerable growth in student enrollment and research funding, accreditation and curriculum approval in relevant interior design and apparel design/production organizations, and facilities improvement, under her leadership. She taught apparel design, textiles and graduate courses, served as major professor for 36 graduate students, and co-authored over 50 journal articles, over 100 refereed presentations, and eight juried design exhibitions. She co-authored 28 grants from various funding agencies including, National Science Foundation, National Institute of Justice, Office of Naval Research, Department of Education, the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism, and private industry. Her awards include: the Mortar Board Outstanding OSU Teacher Award, the Marguerite Scruggs Award for Meritorious Research, the Manmade Fiber Award for Research, the MSU Human Ecology Centennial Outstanding Alumni Award, the 2001 International Textile and Apparel Association Distinguished Scholar Lecturer Award, Oklahoma State University Regents Professor, the 2006 Homeland Security Award sponsored by the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation and Agusta Westland North America, and in 2011, was inducted into the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame. She served as Director of the Institute for Protective Apparel Research and Technology at OSU until her retirement in 2010.
