During my time as Project Officer within the Primary Care Collaborative I was responsible for managing multiple projects within the National GP Collaborative and Dentistry Collaborative. I assisted, coordinated and project managed many elements within the collaborative's and ensured there was robust governance and reporting mechanisms in place and managed effectively to aid the progression of the projects.The GP collaborative looked at two main areas:1. Safety Culture and Climate and,2. Safer Medicines (i.e. monitoring of high risk medicines and medicines reconciliation)Dentistry CollaborativeThe aim of this project was to improve quality and safety in general dental practice through a collaborative approach. The programme is supporting a pilot project to test the concept of an improvement collaborative in NHS general dental practices. My role was to support the Diabetes in Scottish Hospitals project by following HIS due processes and supporting the project team to meet key milestones within the project plan identifying any future risks to the project whilst ensuring the right controls are in place.The Diabetes in Scottish Hospitals (DiSH) work is a project aimed at improving clinical care to patients who have diabetes and are admitted to acute hospitals for something other than their diabetes.
