About Donna Crabtree, Phd

I am passionate about moving new discoveries forward in the healthcare research pipeline. I am a forever learner who is constantly seeking to add new skills to my toolbox. I am highly skilled in clinical project management (including project management software) and clinical operations, having knowledge of multiple therapeutic areas (genetic engineering, infectious diseases, pathology, neuropathology, oncology, gerontology, and others). I have experience at the site level, small biotech level, and in the CRO world. I can take a project from initiation through closeout and everything in between, including leading all start up activities (protocol/SOP creation, FDA/IRB submissions, site engagement/start up, database/IRT/CTMS set up/initiation, clinicaltrials.gov registration/oversight), vendor management and oversight (clinical labs, assay development/validation), budget negotiation/management, recruitment/retention/monitoring/data collection and analysis, and ultimately, study close out (overseeing monitoring visits, queries, database lock, and all reporting and follow up). I have experience running phase I - IV studies and at managing large interdisciplinary teams (domestic and global). I have expertise in presenting to both expert and non-expert audiences, as well as managing and overseeing funding relationships with various partners, both public and private. I've run projects with budgets as small as $200K and as large as $32M. Years ago in graduate school, a professor asked each of us in what specialty we were pursuing our PhDs. Answers ranged from cell biology, pathology, neuroscience, and others. After a pause, he said we were all obtaining advanced degrees in problem solving. I've never forgotten that because he was right, and I've found that to be my true calling, a life as a professional problem solver.

Listed skills include Data Analysis, Molecular Biology, Cell Culture, Animal Models, and 30 others.
