Donna Thomas is the E-911 Coordinator for the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office. She has been part of Colleton County Team for the past 16+ years. Donna was originally hired as the Administrative Assistant for Colleton County 911 and within a few years was promoted to the E-911 Coordinator and 911 Addressing Supervisor . Her attention to detail combined with her strong organizational skills enable her to effectively manage the infrastructure required to support the Sheriff’s Office and the residents of Colleton County. In 2014 Donna was elected to serve on the SC NENA board as the Southeastern Representative for 2015-2016 terms. Prior to her venture as a Colleton County employee, Donna was employed by Raytheon, formally Hughes Aircraft, in Orangeburg, SC. Throughout Donnas’ nine years at Raytheon, she held various positions within production control, planning and scheduling. Her decision to explore a new career path was put into play when Raytheon closed the Orangeburg facility. With this closure, a new career choice was made and Colleton County became her new home. Donna is a SC Native. She grew up on James Island. She is a graduate from James Island High School. Her focus of study was Business Administration. She has participated in continuing education programs geared to business success and security awareness. She holds several certificates in regards to her studies. Donna is a member of the American Grant Writer’s Association and a SC Notary. She has also been approved for membership in the 2015 National Association of Professional Women.In Donnas’ spare time she enjoys lazy beach days and boating on the lake with her family and friends.
