From childhood to adulthood i've experienced many obstacles and have found myself held back with some of the very same statistical facts our organization is targeting. For the last 10 years I've been apart of the philanthropy world and in the last 7 years I’ve been gifted with the opportunity of serving over 600 high barrier - at risk young adults aged 16-26. My professional experience started in Sacramento California as a participant in a nonprofit social enterprise called Juma ventures. Elevating to management quickly and running successful day to day operations in greater Sacramento venues including the Golden 1 Center, Sutter Health Park, Heart Health Park and Toyota Amphitheater. Some of my success included building professional rapport and business developments in a fast paced environment, recruiting, hiring, training and developing youth participants to find their best selves and work in a professional environment, coaching staff through traumas, triggers, barriers, establishing self and social development all while driving and building Juma’s social enterprise operation and serving as not only a key member of the Enterprise team but a mentor and coach to our participants. Under my leadership we’ve been successful in advancing Juma’s mission, creating meaningful impact with participants, obtaining and maintaining growth in partnerships and revenue. With the experience of being a disadvantaged young adult myself, mentor, problem solver, coach, Trauma Informed manager, motivator, program coordinator and an uncertified counselor, I have a very broad understanding of the target population and their needs and aim to be that beacon of opportunity. I've come to find my purpose here on earth which is to rend generational sequences primarily for underprivileged youth. I like to call myself a planter. My duty is to sow seeds onto every single young person that crosses my path. "seeds" thats teaching them a new skill, being a guide, coach, mentor, ear, motivator, challenger or whatever i can assist them with that fits their specific needs/criteria. I'm here to help them understand or learn something about themselves so that they may move onto their next level in life.
