Here’s a little history… my husband, Lee, and I started Arbordale Publishing back in 2004 with a mission to get young children excited about science and math through picture books. In 2007, we decided to translate all of our books into Spanish and to build a digital platform so students could flip back and forth between languages. Schools and districts across the country LOVE that platform but indicated that there weren’t enough books and that it needed more depth and breadth in both interest/reading levels and subject matters. We have spent the last several years improving and expanding the platform and are so excited to announce the new dual-language, multilingual Fathom Reads platform. Current Publishing Partners: 12 Story Library, Amicus Publishing, Arbordale Publishing, Arte Público Press, Bearport Publishing, Core Knowledge, Eerdmans Books, Full Tilt Press, Jump!, Rourke Educational Media, Teacher Created Materials, Treasure Bay, and more coming soon. Languages: Admittedly, almost all books are translated into Spanish (or Spanish translated into English in some cases), but we are also adding other languages including Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Haitian Creole, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Thai. Some books have two languages and some have up to ten different languages! When someone purchases a book, it comes with ALL languages! We work with translation teams and narrators around the world. Books: There are over 1,200 books available with new books being added daily. All core-subjects are now represented and interest and reading levels range from Pre-K to middle school. As Paul Harvey used to say, “and now you know the rest of the story.” It’s pretty darn exciting. 😊
