My first career, in public health, included work at the Kaiser Hospital, and The American Lung Association. In 1977 I returned to graduate school at Stanford. Unpon graduating in 1979, I went to work for Touche Ross & Co, followed by a Program Director position at Syntex Corporation, a pharmaceutical company. In 1984 I joined The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation as a Program Director where I remained for almost eight years. In 1994 I joined The Center for Advancement on Women as the Deputy Director, and in 1998 became a Program Director at The Rockefeller Foundation. From 2002-2022 I served as the President & CEO of The Women Donors Network, a national oragnization of progressive philanthropic activist women. During my tenure we became a c3 and a c4 non-profit, we grew our national membership, and we became grantmakers with an annual grantmaking budget of approximately $20 million.Since retiring in December 2022, I have been providing consulting and mentoring services, combining my varied background and skills with an interest in remaining actively engaged. I seek partnerships with organiations who share my values and will benefit from my strategic and programmatic experiences as they grow and strengthen their own skill sets and organizations.My tenures on non-profit boards include The Communication Consortium Media Center, the Meridian Institute, Hedgebrook, Planned Parenthood and Too Young to Wed.
