Donna Hines Email and Phone Number
My world changed when I was left literally on the street with nothing more than thrift store attire and three kids during a 2013 divorce from a person I considered to be a malignant narcissist. My eldest son born med disabled for life with vater syndrome while I myself struggled over the years with pregnancy related/reproductive issues that worsened with the stress of being homeless, LT unemployed, bankrupt, and in extreme poverty. Many of my friends and family ghosted me. Others who prided themselves on inclusion shut their doors. Yet, through it all I refused to settle for less than deserved.I slowly built upon my impressive 20 years plus of volunteering knowledge. It was to fill the gap in childrearing and caretaking of two elderly.Little did I know this would set the change in motion from poverity to prosperity. In 2015, I was selected by Poverity to Prosperity to have my story told by Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn) to every member of Congress. In 2016, I became a Points of Light recipient & MFHS(Maternal Family Health Services) Outstanding Community Service Award recipient alongside Dr. Rachel Levine (PA Physician General)June of 2023 arrived: I had reentered the workforce in March having not worked in almost 23 years. A feat many thought was impossible especially after having my dad's memorial just two days earlier. Yet, with 92% job performance in April, 1 of 3 FSA of NEPA employees to become a 2023 Change Maker by Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce, having documented 641 calls April; the highest number ever documented by a Helpline employee; I felt empowered for the first time in my almost 50 years young.Sadly, it was short lived. I was let go for being too empathetic in September. Three days later onboard with UNC of NEPA, contracted, with another employee, and was again let go by October. The employer's bank sadly had placed an 11 day hold on wages for insufficient funds. I crumbled to the floor. How, why me? What am I doing wrong I asked myself? Having served my community for over 20 years with nearing 25 nonprofits I thought what was next.September of 2023 just days after being let go from FSA for being too empathetic I became Marywood Universities 2023 Alumni Community Achievement Award recipient for being empathetic!Ironically, just one day after attending the Adopt A Single Mom Project dinner celebration in which I was told to go into private practice since my volunteering/awards meant nothing to employers I was contacted and informed I received the Relief Caseworker position! #NeverGiveUp
